catch me if you can 5k

The "Catch Me If You Can" 5K was a project I built from the ground up as part of my role as Marketing Director at Mercedes-Benz of El Paso. My goal was to create an event that brought the community together, promoted health and wellness, and raised money for a meaningful cause. With El Paso’s running scene booming, I knew we had the perfect opportunity to craft something special.

To make this event stand out, I partnered with RunForIt, one of the most influential run clubs in the city, known for their grassroots efforts in building a strong, inclusive running community. Together, we planned an unforgettable race that was not just about running, but also about storytelling, branding, and community engagement.

From branding and merchandise design to event logistics, route mapping, and promotion, I contributed to nearly every aspect of making this event a success. One of the most exciting parts was teaming up with Purple Roots Marketing Agency to create a cinematic teaser video in which I played a detective chasing RunForIt members through El Paso—a creative twist that inspired the event’s tagline:

"Catch Me If You Can."

The event was a massive success, with a high turnout, strong brand engagement, and merch that flew off the shelves. More importantly, proceeds were donated to the Rio Grande Cancer Foundation, supporting cancer research and resources in our community.

This project was a perfect blend of marketing, creativity, and community impact—proving that when people come together around a shared vision, great things happen.
